Did God create Satan?

The answer to this question lies in creation itself. In the beginning, when God created the one who would become Satan, He created him as an angel of light. It was after this creation that he rebelled against his Creator, becoming Satan, while the angels who followed him in this fall became demons.

Evil is born from an act of rebellion against the Creator: this is proof that God never created evil. It is the misuse of our free will that brings it into the world. When we decide to turn our backs on the Creator to follow our own will rather than His, we act against the order of creation and give birth to evil.

In summary, it is the misuse of free will, refusing to listen to the Creator, who alone knows what is good or bad for us, that engenders evil.
